Himanshu Gupta Given Additional Charge as CMD of EdCIL (India) Ltd

Himanshu Gupta, Secretary CBSE, has been given additional charge as CMD of EdCIL (India) Ltd. The Mini Ratna PSU has recorded 24% CAGR over the last decade, with revenue rising to ₹655 crore.

New Delhi: In continuation of its earlier office order dated 21 May 2025, the Ministry has conveyed the approval of the Competent Authority for assigning additional charge of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of EdCIL (India) Ltd to Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

As per the official order, Shri Himanshu Gupta will hold the additional charge with immediate effect for a period of three months, or till the appointment of a new CMD, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The additional responsibility will be in addition to his present assignments as Secretary, CBSE.

EdCIL (India) Limited is a continuously profit-making and fast-growing Mini Ratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Education. The company offers project management, consultancy, ed-tech, and allied services across all areas of education, both within India and overseas.

Reflecting its strong growth trajectory, EdCIL has registered a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 24% over the last decade, from FY 2014–15 to FY 2023–24. During this period, the company’s revenue increased significantly from ₹74 crore to ₹655 crore, underscoring its expanding role in India’s education ecosystem and its growing international footprint.

The office order has been issued by Shri Kunal Raja Gautam, Under Secretary to the Government of India.
