NEET Re Examination 2026, Cabinet Secretary Reviews Preparedness ahead of June 21 Test

Cabinet Secretary Dr. T. V. Somanathan reviewed preparations for the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026, with the Director General of NTA.

New Delhi: Cabinet Secretary Dr. T. V. Somanathan reviewed the preparedness for the NEET re-examination in a meeting with the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the review focused on ensuring a smooth, transparent and secure conduct of the NEET re-examination, which is scheduled to be held on June 21, 2026.

During the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary emphasized the need for close coordination among all stakeholders involved in conducting the examination. He said the Central Government, State Governments and district administrations are working together to ensure the smooth conduct of the re-examination.

Dr. Somanathan warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to interfere with the integrity of the examination process.

"The full might and weight of the law will fall on any person trying in any manner to distort, disrupt or tamper with the integrity or smooth conduct of the re-examination," he stated.

The Cabinet Secretary had earlier reviewed the arrangements with Secretaries of the Central Government and relevant agencies on June 1, 2026. He also held a review meeting with Chief Secretaries of State Governments on June 4 to assess preparedness and progress related to examination arrangements.

The Ministry said these meetings are aimed at ensuring effective coordination, strengthening preparedness and maintaining the integrity and credibility of the NEET re-examination process.
