NEW DELHI: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) has achieved a significant milestone at the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0, reinforcing its role as a leading innovation hub in the Ayurveda sector. Through its incubation centre iCAINE, the institute supported the selection of a promising startup idea, highlighting its growing contribution to research, entrepreneurship, and healthcare innovation.

The MSME Idea Hackathon, organised by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises India, is a national platform designed to encourage students, innovators, and early-stage startups to develop solutions with real-world impact. Selected ideas receive financial assistance of up to ₹15 lakh, along with mentorship and incubation support, helping transform concepts into viable enterprises. One of the standout innovations selected under AIIA’s mentorship is “MITE OUT”, a non-invasive device designed for the safe removal of larvae in livestock. Developed by a team led by Anneasa Manna, the idea reflects how technology and healthcare innovation can address practical challenges in agriculture and veterinary science, while also aligning with broader public health goals.

Experts at AIIA emphasised that initiatives like this are crucial for integrating traditional knowledge systems like Ayurveda with modern technology, creating solutions that are both innovative and socially relevant. Through iCAINE, the institute provides end-to-end support including technical guidance, validation, and infrastructure, enabling startups to scale effectively.

The development highlights the growing opportunities in startup ecosystems, incubation centres, and government-backed innovation programmes. With increasing support for research and entrepreneurship, platforms like the MSME Hackathon are helping young innovators turn ideas into impactful ventures, contributing to India’s vision of a self-reliant and innovation-driven economy.
