Ballia: The Government of Uttar Pradesh has invited applications for the post of Vice-Chancellor at Jananayak Chandrashekhar University, Ballia. The appointment will be made under the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973, from a panel recommended by a duly constituted committee. Applications must be submitted on or before February 10, 2026.

Key points

Tenure: Three years from the date of assuming office, or until the age of 68 years, whichever is earlier.
Age eligibility: Applicants must not have attained 65 years of age.
Role & expectations: The Vice-Chancellor is the principal executive and academic officer of the university and must demonstrate high standards of competence, integrity, institutional commitment, and sound administrative ability, along with a distinguished academic record.
Application mode: Online applications only, in the prescribed format.
Portal: Applications are to be filed via www.upgovernor.gov.in.
Note: Late applications will not be considered. Appointment will take effect after the completion of the current Vice-Chancellor’s tenure and once the post falls vacant.
