Ajinomoto Foundation Announces Postgraduate Scholarship Grant 2026

The Ajinomoto Foundation has invited applications for its prestigious Postgraduate Scholarship Grant 2026, offering financial and academic support to one deserving Filipino scholar to pursue a master’s degree in Japan. The application deadline is March 2, 2026.

New Delhi:  - The Ajinomoto Scholarship Foundation, in partnership with Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation, has announced the opening of applications for the Ajinomoto Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship Grant 2026, a competitive program aimed at supporting outstanding Filipino students in science-related fields.

The scholarship is designed for applicants seeking a master’s degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, or Engineering at leading universities in Japan. Successful candidates may study at prestigious institutions such as the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Ochanomizu University, Waseda University, or Japan Nutrition University.

Scholarship Benefits (Selected scholars will receive) :

Monthly allowance of ¥180,000 for up to two years during master’s studies.

For those beginning as research students, ¥150,000 per month for up to one year.

Full coverage of tuition fees, admission fees, and examination fees.

Support for medical and psychological examinations prior to departure.

Japanese language training.

Round-trip airfare from the Philippines to Japan.

Duration : 

The scholarship may cover up to three years, including one year as a research student and two years as a master’s student. For Waseda University, funding is typically provided for two years of master’s study in line with its academic structure.

Selection Process & Timeline : 

The selection process will take place in multiple stages:

First screening and interview – March 2026

Second screening – April 2026

Third screening – May 2026

Final results announcement – June 2026

Successful applicants must complete university requirements and secure enrollment by October 2026.

Conditions: 

The foundation emphasizes academic excellence and integrity. The scholarship may be suspended or terminated in cases of false information, poor academic performance, misconduct, failure to pass entrance examinations within one year, or violation of program rules. In some cases, disbursed funds may need to be repaid.
