New Delhi - The Bar Council of India (BCI) has started the registration process for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE XXI) from February 11, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply through the official portals — barcouncilofindia.org and allindiabarexamination.com — with the last date for online registration set as April 30, 2026.

As per the official schedule, the last date for fee payment is May 1, 2026, while the correction window for submitted applications will remain open until May 3, 2026. Admit cards are scheduled to be released on May 22, 2026, and the examination will be conducted on June 7, 2026.

The AIBE is conducted as an open-book, multiple-choice examination to assess candidates’ understanding of key areas of law such as Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Professional Ethics, Evidence Act, Family Law, Cyber Law, Law of Contract, and Property Law, among others. The 100-mark test is mandatory for law graduates and final-semester students of 3-year or 5-year LLB programmes seeking to practice law in India.

Candidates who qualify the examination are awarded a Certificate of Practice, which is essential for appearing before courts and tribunals across the country. As per BCI norms, the minimum qualifying marks are 45% for General and OBC candidates, and 40% for SC/ST and differently-abled candidates. Aspirants are advised to complete their registration within the stipulated timeline and regularly check the official website for updates.
