CBSE Clarifies Class 12 Mathematics Question Paper QR Code Issue, Confirms Paper Was Genuine

New Delhi, March 10, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a clarification regarding concerns raised over QR codes printed on the Class 12 Mathematics question paper conducted on March 9, 2026.

According to the Board, several security features are incorporated in CBSE question papers, including QR codes, which help verify the authenticity of the paper in case of any suspected security breach.

During the Class 12 Mathematics examination, some students reported that scanning one of the QR codes printed on certain question paper sets redirected them to a YouTube video, which raised doubts among students and parents regarding the genuineness of the question paper.

Responding to the concerns, CBSE has confirmed that the question papers used in the examination were genuine and the security of the papers remained uncompromised.

In an official statement, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE, stated that while the issue created confusion among stakeholders, there was no breach in the integrity or authenticity of the examination process.

The Board has taken the matter seriously and said that necessary steps are being initiated to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

CBSE conducts board examinations for millions of students across India every year, and the board has reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of examination security and transparency.
