New Delhi. : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an official notification inviting online applications from private candidates for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026. This initiative is in line with the Two Board Examination Policy introduced under NEP 2020, allowing students to improve their performance.

 Important Dates

  • Application Start Date: 16 April 2026 (around noon)
  • Last Date (Without Late Fee): 20 April 2026 (midnight)
  • Last Date (With Late Fee): 21 April to 22 April 2026

 Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

  • Students from session 2024–25 placed in Compartment category (Third Chance)
  • Candidates eligible but did not appear in Main Exam 2026
  • Students who appeared earlier and want to improve performance in up to three subjects

 Application Process

Candidates must apply only through online mode via CBSE’s private candidate portal:

 https://www.cbse.gov.in/newsite/private/index.html

  • No offline applications will be accepted
  • Application without fee will be rejected
  • Details for 2025 candidates will be auto-generated in the system

  Key Instructions for Candidates

  • Applications are accepted strictly within deadlines only
  • Fees can be paid only through online modes (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking)
  • No corrections allowed after final submission deadline
  • Examination centre will be allotted based on chosen city and cannot be changed later
  • Candidates must fill forms carefully; incorrect details may lead to rejection

Exam Details

  • The Second Board Examination 2026 will be conducted on the same syllabus as the main examination
  • Candidates can apply only for subjects auto-generated in the system
  • Students must upload photo and signature (JPG format, max 40 KB)

  Important Note

CBSE has clarified that mere submission of form and fee does not guarantee eligibility. Final approval will depend on meeting all eligibility conditions prescribed by the Board.
