Central University of Punjab Secures Strong Global apositions in the World University Rankings 2026

Central university of Punjab has achieved notable global recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University rankings by Subject 2026, securing top rank bands in Medicine and Health, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences.

Bhatinda - The Central university of Punjab (CU Phnja) has recorded a significant achievement by securing a global rank band of 251-300 in Medicine and Health in the Times Higher Education (THE), World University Ranking by subject 2026. The university also earned a strong Research Quality score of 85.2. In this, category, reflecting its growing impact in medicinal and health sciences research.

In discipline specific rankings, CU Punjab has been placed in the 401-500 global rank band in Physical Sciences, and in the 601 - 800 band in Life Sciences. Overall, the university continues to maintain a global presence with an overall rank band of 601-800 in The World University Rankings.

The rankings place CU Punjab among a select group of Indian Higher Education Institutions featured in the top global bands, highlighting its consistent progress in teaching, research output and citation impact. Welcoming the achievement Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raghuvendra P. Tiwari said the rankings reflect the robustness and the quality of university's research ecosystem and are the result of sustained efforts by faculty members, researchers, students and stakeholders.
