CU Punjab Hosts Research Fest 2026, Showcases Work of 100+ Researchers

CU Punjab hosted Research Fest 2026 showcasing innovations by 100+ researchers and inaugurated E-YUVA Centre to promote entrepreneurship.

Bathinda: The Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) showcased the societal impact of research by over 100 researchers during Research Fest 2026, while also inaugurating a BIRAC-supported E-YUVA Centre to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

The E-YUVA Centre was inaugurated by Ratan Gupta, Executive Director of AIIMS Bathinda, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Raghavendra P. Tiwari, faculty members, and university officials.

The newly established centre aims to foster research-based entrepreneurship by providing infrastructure, fellowships, and mentorship support to students and researchers. Facilities at the centre include cell culture labs, biosafety cabinets, and molecular biology laboratories.

During the Research Fest, more than 25 research groups presented their work across diverse fields such as environmental science, biotechnology, agriculture, biomedical sciences, engineering, and social sciences. Key themes included climate change, cancer biology, antimicrobial resistance, artificial intelligence, and sustainable agriculture.

Students from institutions across the Malwa region visited the event, gaining exposure to research innovations and interdisciplinary problem-solving.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tiwari highlighted that the university is actively strengthening its startup ecosystem through initiatives such as the E-YUVA Centre, NIDHI i-TBI Incubation Centre, and AICTE IDEA Lab.

The event concluded with a valedictory session encouraging students to contribute to India’s growing startup ecosystem and leverage research for societal impact.
