Choice Filling Final Date of GGSIPU
An essential notification for applicants heading to the 2026 Centralized Online Counseling has been released by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). It states the choice filling window will close on June 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Those who are at IPU CET or at eligible national-level entrance exams must submit their choices to the preferred college and course to be eligible to the following rounds of the seat allotment.
As per the university, the choice-filling step of the admission process is critical. It allows candidates to express their first preference to the last preference of colleges and programs. Candidates must log in to the GGSIPU official counseling portal to set their preferences as per their entrance rank, qualifications, and preferences. The university representatives have stated the deadline will be final, and the portal will stop accepting entries and modifications at 11:59 PM, June 29.
Manually Locking of Choices Recommended
To ease the online counseling process, the GGSIPU Admission Cell has suggested a procedure to be followed by candidates for preference submission. Participants will be allowed to add, delete, and modify preferences. However, GGSIPU has suggested not waiting until the last moment. High traffic on the portal may cause delays.
Important guidance has been issued to students by the university regarding the locking of choices. The manual locking of options by candidates is required. If candidates fail to lock their options, the system is permitted to automatically freeze their options. Officials have also suggested that the “Lock Choices” button be clicked and that the confirmation be printed or downloaded. The final list of choices will be confirmed in order to match the candidate’s preferences as closely as possible.
Popular Courses Witness High Demand Ahead of Counselling Deadline
The competition for admission to the university’s flagship courses has increased sharply in recent days. Courses witnessing a huge rush include BJMC, B.Tech., and BBA.
The preference for MAIMS as well as VIPS by many journalism aspirants can be attributed to the good quality of education, as well as the good placement. The university’s engineering BTech will see huge competition for vacant seats from many leading affiliated colleges of the university.Because the order of preferences is important for the allocation of a seat, students prefer to consult teachers as well as their peers and other persons of their acquaintance in order to make their final preference.
Key Instructions for Candidates
- Choices must be filled by the deadline of June 29, 2026, 11:59 PM.
- Construct preferences for college and courses in accordance with interest.
- Choices should be locked manually, not relied upon to auto-freeze
- Locked choices confirmation should be printed or downloaded.
- Alterations of choices must not occur in the final.
Mistakes are Common in Counselling - Avoid Them
Candidates have no chance of allocation if the rank does not meet the criteria set by the college options selected. Students are advised to have a combination of dream, average, and safe options when it comes to college options.
Candidates should also be careful to select college shifts. There are many GGSIPU-affiliated colleges that have first and second shifts and have different timings, as well as different cutoffs. Selecting the wrong shift will not only affect the timings of classes but will also impact the commute as well as the overall teaching and learning experience.
First Allocation to Take Place After Options Have Been Confirmed
After the options have been confirmed, GGSIPU will allocate options based on the rank obtained, the reservation criteria, and the availability of the seat. GGSIPU will most likely publish the results of the first allotment of seats after the confirmation of options by the candidates.
Those who have been allotted a seat will be required to pay the admission fee to secure a seat and will participate in the process of counselling. Those who fail to pay the fee will have their seat and will not be eligible to participate in the process of counselling.
