DIT University Hosts Expert Talk on Nordic Minimalistic Furniture Design

DIT University will organize an online expert lecture on Minimalistic Furniture Design: Case Studies from the Nordic Region on February 4, 2026. The session, to be led by design expert Henrik Haagen, will offer students insights into Nordic design principles, sustainability, and contemporary furniture practices.

Dehradhun - The School of Design at DIT University, Dehradun, is organizing online expert lecture titled “Minimalistic Furniture Design: Case Studies from the Nordic Region” on February 4, 2026. The session aims to expose students to global design practices and contemporary trends in furniture design inspired by Nordic aesthetics.

The expert talk will be delivered by Henrik Haagen, Director at Norse Brands Pvt. Ltd., who holds an MBA from Brunel University and Henley Management College, UK. During the lecture, he shared in-depth case studies highlighting the principles of simplicity, functionality, sustainability, and craftsmanship that define Nordic furniture design.

Mr. Haagen is going to discuss real-world examples from the Nordic region, explaining how minimalism is effectively apllied in future design without compromising comfort and usability. He will also emphasize the growing global relavance of sustainable materials and user-centric design.

The interactive session is allowing students to engage directly with the expert through questions and discussions, making the lecture highly informative and inspiring. Such expert interactions help bridge the gap between academic learning and international industry practices.
