Jamia Millia Islamia : Admissions Open with 30 New Programmes, No Fee Hike

Jamia Millia Islamia releases Prospectus 2026–27 and starts admissions with 30 new programmes. No fee hike, FYUP admissions begin, expanded test centres.

New Delhi : Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has officially released its Prospectus for the Academic Session 2026–27, marking a major expansion in academic offerings with the launch of 30 new programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate levels. Alongside the prospectus release, online admissions have commenced from Feburary 20th. .

The 150-page prospectus was launched by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, and Controller of Examinations Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, detailing eligibility criteria, entrance tests, syllabi, fee structures, application timelines, and admission procedures.

30 New Programmes Introduced for 2026–27

For the upcoming academic session, JMI has introduced 30 new programmes, many aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, significantly strengthening its multidisciplinary and skill-oriented education framework.

Some of the key newly launched programmes include:

  • B.A. (Hons) in Japanese Studies, German Studies, Uzbek Language, Human Resource Management
  • M.Sc. in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, Biophysics (NEP-aligned)
  • MA in Social Work, HRM, Sociology (NEP-aligned)
  • B.Tech. in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence; Civil Engineering (Construction Technology)
  • Evening B.E. programmes in Civil, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
  • LLM in Criminal Law, Corporate Law, and Personal Law
  • M.Sc. Renewable Energy, M.Tech Material Science & Technology
  • ITEP B.A. B.Ed / B.Sc. B.Ed (Secondary)
  • PG Diploma in Computational Design & AI in Architecture, Master of Hotel Management, and several diploma and certificate programmes

No Fee Hike, FYUP Admissions Begin

In a major relief for students, Jamia Millia Islamia has not increased course fees for any programme for the 2026–27 academic session. Additionally, admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) will commence for the first time this year, offering greater academic flexibility in line with NEP 2020.

Expanded Entrance Test Centres

To enhance nationwide accessibility, JMI has expanded its entrance test network to 11 centres, adding Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj. Existing centres include Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.

Admission Timeline & Application Categories

  • Online forms for JMI entrance-test-based programmes: Open till March 25, 2026
  • Admissions through JEE Main, NATA, NEET, NCET & CUET: Open from February 20, 2026 till 10 days after result declaration
  • Multiple Entry (FYUP vacant seats): February 20 to April 10, 2026

Admissions have been streamlined into four categories with separate online application links:

  • General University Programmes
  • CUET-based Programmes
  • B.Tech & B.Arch Programmes
  • Multiple Entry (NEP 2020) Programmes

The university has also reduced fees for foreign students, introducing a region-wise differential fee structure for candidates from SAARC, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
