Karnataka 2nd PUC Result 2026: The Big Picture
Of the 6,32,200 students who appeared for the examinations across the state, a total of 5,46,698 students have successfully qualified. The jump in pass percentage (over 13%) is being attributed to a combination of more student-friendly evaluation patterns and the forward movement of the "Three Annual Exam" system, which reduced the singular pressure of the March attempt.
Stream-Wise Performance Analysis
As per tradition, the Science stream has emerged as the frontrunner in terms of pass percentage, though the Arts stream showed the most enhanced year-on-year growth.

Social Tendencies: Rural and Urban, Gender Divide
The 2026 outcomes point out an intriguing change in the educational conditions in Karnataka.
The Rural Advantage
Contrary to the popular stereotypes of the availability of resources, the rural students achieved better results than their urban colleagues did this year.
• Rural Pass Percentage: 87.62%
• Urban Pass Percentage: 85.95%
Girls Outshine Boys Once Again
In 2026, the trend of women students topping the charts remains in the same trend.
• Girls: 88.70% Pass Percentage
• Boys: 83.65% Pass Percentage
District-Wise Leaders
The coastal strip is still leading in the academic rankings. Udupi has taken the first position in the state and closely comes Dakshina Kannada. Such districts have continued to uphold high levels of pre-university education with strict academic discipline.
College-Wise Breakdown: Government vs. Private
This data depicts a definite difference in the performance of various types of institutions with Residential and Unaided colleges taking the lead.
Residential PU Colleges: 93.99% (Highest overall)
• Unaided (Private) Colleges: 90.73%
• Aided Colleges: 82.90%
• Government PU Colleges: 78.72%
Although the government colleges are at a lower percentage, the government has recorded 12 percent better results in government schools in comparison with 2025, which is a positive indication that the interventions at the state level are paying off.

Mental Wellbeing Note
Though results are an endpoint, it is not the end destination. The social pressure of the 2nd PUC can be a very stressful situation. Being the representatives of society, we should keep in mind that the 2026 system is aimed at offering a variety of opportunities.
In case one of the students has failed to get the desired result today, the April 25th Exam-2 is a new beginning- not a failure attempt, but a second opportunity to polish their future.
