National Seminar on Libraries as Pillars of National Integrity At University of Kashmir

The Department of Library & Information Science at the University of Kashmir, under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan, is organizing a two-day national seminar on how libraries serve as inclusive spaces for harmony and social cohesion.

SRINAGAR, The Department of Library and Information Science at the University of Kashmir has announced a prestigious two-day national seminar scheduled for March 24-25, 2026. Titled "Libraries: Pillars of Unity, Harmony and National Integrity," sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, which aims to explore the transformative role of libraries in fostering social cohesion across the nation.

Established in 1948, the University of Kashmir is a premier center of academic excellence with a rich history in the region’s post-independence educational landscape. Originally part of the University of Jammu and Kashmir before its bifurcation in 1969, the institution is located in the Hazratbal area of Srinagar, flanked by the Dal and Nigeen Lakes. Currently holding a NAAC Grade A++ accreditation, the university serves over 100,000 students and is committed to an intellectually stimulating environment that enhances the scientific and cultural fabric of the region.
