NIEPA alongwith Tripura University to Host National Seminar on NEP 2020 Implementation for North Eastern Region

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), in collaboration with Tripura University, is organizing a two-day National Seminar on March 17-18, 2026. Titled "NEP 2020: Policy into Practice to Create a Knowledge Economy," the event specifically invites scholarly papers from the North Eastern Region of India to explore policy implications, resource management, and equity in higher education.

Tripura, The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), a New Delhi-based Deemed to be University, has announced a collaborative initiative with Tripura University, Agartala, to host a significant two-day National Seminar focused on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Scheduled to take place on March 17-18, 2026, at the Tripura University campus, the seminar is titled "NEP 2020: Policy into Practice to Create a Knowledge Economy". This academic gathering is specifically tailored for the North Eastern Region of India, inviting papers and participation exclusively from this area to address regional educational challenges and opportunities.

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) stands as a premier institution established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, dedicated to capacity building and research in educational planning and administration. By partnering with Tripura University, a central university known for its pursuit of excellence in the North East, the seminar leverages the expertise of two major academic bodies to foster a deeper understanding of policy implementation. The leadership for this event includes Prof. Shashikala Wanjari, Vice-Chancellor of NIEPA, and Prof. Shyamal Das, Vice-Chancellor (I/c) of Tripura University, alongside key coordinators like Prof. Veera Gupta and Dr. Paripally Shankar from NIEPA’s Department of Educational Policy.

The relevance of this seminar lies in its critical examination of how the NEP 2020 can be transitioned from a policy framework into practical application to build a robust knowledge economy.
