NIT Agartala Recruitment 2026: Applications Invited for Research Positions in Agarwood Project

NIT Agartala is recruiting for Research Associate, JRF/SRF, and Project Assistant positions for a 4-year NCE-funded project on Agarwood oil testing. Eligible candidates with a Master’s in Chemical Engineering or Sciences and experience in Chromatography can apply via email within 10 days of the official announcement.

Agartala ; National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala has announced vacancies for various research positions under a sponsored project funded by the National Centre for Excellence (NCE), Govt. of Tripura. The project, titled "Establishment of Testing Facility for Testing of Agarwood Oil & Hydrosol," offers a unique opportunity for candidates to work on high-impact research with a duration of four years.

Available Positions & Monthly Emoluments

The institute is offering three tiers of recruitment based on the candidate's qualification and experience:

Position Monthly Emolument (Consolidated)
Research Associate ₹45,000 (Years 1-2); ₹50,000 (Year 3 onwards)
Research Fellow (JRF/SRF) ₹31,000 (Years 1-2); ₹35,000 (Year 3 onwards)
Project Assistant ₹18,000 (Years 1-2); ₹21,000 (Year 3 onwards)

Note: Candidates with GATE qualifications may be entitled to higher emoluments as per DST norms, subject to funding agency approval.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Academic Qualification: First Class Master’s Degree in Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Analytical/Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or relevant disciplines.

  • Experience: Proven experience in handling and operating Liquid and Gas Chromatograph with Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/GC-MS) and proficiency in analyzing chromatograms.

  • Preferences: Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D., research publications in Scopus/SCI journals, or NET/GATE qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Selected candidates will be responsible for:

  • Operation and maintenance of analytical equipment.

  • Method development and protocol designing.

  • Conducting laboratory experiments, sampling, and field trials.
