IIT Indore to Host Technical Seminar on Next Generation Steel Construction.

Indian Institute of Technology, Indore in association with the Institute for Steel Development and Growth, will organise a one-day technical seminar, focusing on advanced steel-based construction practices. The seminar will take place on 22 January 2026 at the IIT Indore campus.

Indore - The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore in collaboration with the Institute for Steel Development and Growth (INSDAG) has announced a one-day technical seminar titled "Reimagining Construction Paradigm : Steel for the Next Generation".

The seminar will be held on Thursday , 22 JANUARY 2026 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM,  with registration starting at 9:00 AM. The venue for the event is Room 1D-105, IIT Indore Campus, Indore, Madhya Pradesh and the programme will be conducted in offline mode only.

 The seminar will bring together industry experts, IIT faculty, researchers and INSDAG professionals to discuss emerging trends in steel infrastructure, including innovative steel structure, composite, construction, modern bridge design, life-cycle assessment and sustainable practices along with a panel discussion featuring academic and industry experts.

The event is open to UG and PG students research scholars, faculty members and professionals from the construction sector. Registration is free, but mandatory and E-Certificate will be provided to all the participants.

The seminar is being coordinated by Prof. Sandeep Choudhury (Department of Civil Engineering), Prof. Pawan Kumar Kankar (Department of Mechanical Engineering) IIT Indore. Student coordination is being handled by Aastha Sharma, Gaurav Sharma and Akash Paradkar, while industry coordination from INSDAG includes Mr Muneeb Mehraj and Dr. Siddharth chauhan.
