Vijay Gokhale to Deliver Expert Talk on India’s Foreign Policy at FLAME University

Former Foreign Secretary Shri Vijay Gokhale will speak on India’s evolving foreign policy priorities and strategic continuity on 25 February 2026 at 2:15 pm, in collaboration with ORCA, New Delhi.

Pune: An expert lecture on “India’s Foreign Policy: Emerging Priorities and Policy Continuity” will be delivered by Shri Vijay Gokhale, former Foreign Secretary of India, on Wednesday, 25 February 2026 at 2:15 pm. The event is organised in collaboration with the Organisation for Research on China and Asia (ORCA), New Delhi, under the FLAME–ORCA Memorandum of Understanding in place since the 2023–24 academic year.

A career diplomat from the 1981 batch of the Indian Foreign Service, Shri Gokhale served as India’s Foreign Secretary from January 2018 to January 2020. Over his diplomatic career, he held key postings in Hong Kong, Hanoi, Beijing, New York, and Taipei, and served as High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ambassador to Germany, and Ambassador to China.

He is also an accomplished author, known for books such as The Long Game, After Tiananmen, and Crosswinds, and is a recipient of the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism (Non-Fiction).

The lecture will explore how India balances emerging global shifts while maintaining strategic continuity, particularly in relation to major powers like the United States and China.
