Mumbai, December 29, 2025: Target Learning Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a leading educational publishing house, has honoured two distinguished educators from Maharashtra for their outstanding contributions to innovative classroom practices. The teachers were recognised with the Shikshak Ratna Award following their selection by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for excellence in teaching innovation.
The awardees include Mrs. Spruha Suresh Indu, Senior Teacher at Chembur Education Society Primary School, Mumbai, and Mr. Jagdish Indalkar, teacher at Lion M.P. Bhuta Sion Sarvajanik High School, Sion, Mumbai.
Innovative Teaching Through Play and Creativity
Mr. Indalkar was recognised for developing engaging reading techniques that transform reading into an interactive, game-based activity. His methods have helped cultivate a strong reading habit among students by making learning enjoyable and participatory.
Mrs. Indu, a nine-time state award recipient, was selected for her innovative use of traditional Indian games to strengthen foundational numeracy skills. By incorporating games such as Lagori and Bhatokli, and using everyday household items like pots and pans, she teaches concepts related to shapes, sizes and measurements in a practical and relatable manner.
