VR Headsets and Robotics Are Replacing Textbooks in Vidyajyoti Classrooms

Tripura has launched a high-tech education overhaul by setting up state-of-the-art robotics, drone, and Virtual Reality (VR) labs across all CBSE-affiliated Vidyajyoti schools under the Samagra Shiksha initiative. Designed to align with NEP 2020's hands-on learning mandate, the program gives government school students access to 3D virtual space simulations, human anatomy models, and practical coding kits. Following an intensive five-day teacher training boot camp in Agartala, state officials are deploying surprise inspections to ensure these multi-lakh equipment setups boost daily attendance and permanently cut dropout rates.

New Delhi. ;The government of Tripura have taken a major step to update classroom teaching recently. Under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, high-tech robotics and virtual reality (VR) labs is being set up across various Vidyajyoti schools. The main reason behind this move is to give modern technical skills to state school kids so they don't lag behind big private school students. Higher officials feels that giving access to modern technology like basic coding and VR tools from early school life will improve the overall quality of education in the state.

What Kids Will Do Inside These High-Tech Labs : 

Inside these newly built school labs, children doesn't have to just sit and read big heavy books all day. In the robotics area, students will learn how to make simple electronics items, small sensor devices, and basic working robot models on their own. Along with this, VR headsets are provided so children can see complex science topics in full 3D visual format. For example, they can explore outer space, see inside human heart, or visit historical places virtually while staying inside their normal classroom.

Direct Practical Training Given to School Teachers : 

Before handing over these expensive kits to students, the state education department organized special practical training for teachers also. A detailed 5-day training program was conducted at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School in Agartala. In this program, school teachers was given complete practical idea about how to run VR devices, program simple robots, and handle small drone models. Since many teachers was using these equipment for the first time, this practical practice was very much needed so they can guide kids properly.

How This Project Fits into NEP 2020 Goals : 

This new step goes directly along with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines, which always support learning by doing instead of just mugging up answers. Government believes that when daily study becomes fun and colorful through VR and practical kits, students will love coming to school every day. Because of this, total daily attendance will rise up and school dropout rate will go down automatically. It also build extra confidence in small-town children so they can think about technical careers later in life.

Strict Inspection Planned to Avoid Misuse of Funds : 

Just installing big equipments inside schools is not enough, so the government have made a strict checking plan as well. Higher officers from education team will make regular visits to these Vidyajyoti schools to check if students are getting real lab time or not. They will check school timetable to ensure these VR and robotics kits does not just keep lying inside locked cupboards. The state wants to make sure every single rupee spent under Samagra Shiksha actually reaches the village and town students directly.
