Two Week Refresher Course in Physics Concludes at CUH

Two Week Offline Refresher Course in Physics from 9th to 21st February 2026, which culminated in a grand Valedictory Ceremony held on 21 February 2026.

Mahendergarh : Under the patron-ship of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, the Central University of Haryana successfully conducted a Two Week Offline Refresher Course in Physics from 9th to 21st February 2026, which culminated in a grand Valedictory Ceremony held on 21 February 2026.

The programme was organized by the UGC–Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) in collaboration with the Department of Physics & Astrophysics under the coordination of Prof. Sunita Srivastava and Dr. Rakesh Kumar. The course was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Pramod Kumar, Director, UGC–MMTTC, and Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director, UGC–MMTTC.

The Refresher Course witnessed participation from faculty members across several states of India. Out of 57 registered participants, 34 attended the programme in offline mode. Over fourteen days, 48 lectures were delivered by 27 distinguished resource persons from reputed institutions including IISER Mohali, IITs, CSIR–NPL, University of Delhi, JNU, NIT Hamirpur, Central University of Rajasthan, and other leading universities.

The course covered major domains of Physics such as Quantum Physics, Advanced Materials, Semiconductor Devices, Nuclear Physics, Astrophysics, Machine Learning, Research Ethics, and Research Funding. Special care was taken to balance theoretical foundations with experimental perspectives.

The Valedictory Ceremony commenced with the University Kulgeet followed by a welcome address by Prof. Pramod Kumar, Director, MMTTC. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Programme Coordinator, presented the detailed report of the programme.Participants expressed highly positive feedback, appreciating the warm hospitality of the University and the efforts made in inviting eminent and knowledgeable resource persons.

Addressing the gathering as Guest of Honour, Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, Central University of Haryana, congratulated the Department of Physics & Astrophysics and appreciated the sincere efforts of the Programme Coordinators in organizing such a comprehensive and well-managed programme.

In his Valedictory Address, the Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, praised the initiative of conducting the Refresher Course in offline mode and emphasized the importance of direct academic interaction. Drawing inspiration from Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, he encouraged participants to embody the ideals of an “Acharya.” He elaborated on the distinction between information, knowledge, and wisdom, stressing that while students today have abundant information, it is the responsibility of teachers to transform that information into true knowledge and wisdom.

The programme concluded with certificate distribution and a formal Vote of Thanks by Prof. Pramod Kumar, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, dignitaries, resource persons, participants, and the organizing team.Special appreciation was extended to Prof. Sunita Srivastava and Dr. Rakesh Kumar for their meticulous planning and dedicated efforts in ensuring the successful conduct of the programme.

The successful completion of the Refresher Course reflects the University’s continued commitment to academic excellence and faculty development in higher education.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Ankush Vij, Head, Department of Physics and Astrophysics, along with faculty members including Dr. Jaswant Kumar, Dr. Ramovatar, Dr. Yashvir Kalkal, Dr. Priya Rani, Dr. Pradeep, and Dr. Rajani Bansal.
