University of Kashmir Announces Recruitment for Technical Assistant Positions

The University of Kashmir has issued Advertisement Notice No. 04 of 2026 to recruit Technical Assistants from the domiciles of Jammu & Kashmir. These positions, offering a pay scale of Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300 (Pay Level 05), are available in departments including Biochemistry, Botany, Computer Science, Home Science, Physics, and the Kupwara Campus. Qualification requirements generally include an M.Sc. with 50% marks or a B.Sc./B.Tech. with at least 55% marks in the relevant technical field.

Tech in Computers or IT with 50% marks, or those with a BCA/B.Sc-IT or a three-year Diploma in Computer Science Engineering with at least 55% marks.

In the Home Science department, the eligibility is focused on M.Sc holders in Biochemistry or Dietetics & Clinical Nutrition with a minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, the Kupwara Campus is looking for technical expertise in Electronics & Communications, accepting applicants with a B.Tech in that field (50% marks), a B.Sc with Electronics (55% marks), or a B.Sc combined with a three-year Diploma in Electronics & Communications (55% marks). Prospective applicants must meet age requirements calculated as of January 1, 2026. The minimum age for all candidates is 18 years. The upper age limit is set at 40 years for Open Merit candidates, 42 years for Physically Challenged individuals, and 43 years for those belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and others. Substantive in-service employees of the University of Kashmir have an extended upper age limit of 50 years.

The application window opened on February 6, 2026, and will remain active until the deadline for online submission on February 26, 2026. Candidates already in government or semi-government service must apply through the proper channel and are required to submit hard copies of their applications by March 5, 2026.
